So for this weeks post I wanted to talk about a new range of Soy Melts that I have become OBSESSED with! They are from a New Zealand based company called Candle Crush. Now Candle Crush doesn't just do Soy Melts...clearly they do Soy Candles too!! I haven't actually tried the Candles but I am completely in love with the melts!! For my first order I got four Soy Melts and the Burner that they sold on the website. The first melt is called Alexander the Grape, as the name would suggest this smells like Grapes! It reminds me of Grape Hubba Bubba but isn't too sickly sweet. Its just the right amount of sweetness and I love burning this one when I am cleaning or doing something boring that I feel needs a little brightening! The next one is Lions and Tigers and Pears - Oh My! My preference to scents is I like them to smell clean and fresh with either a floral scent or fruity scent. This one definitely hits all my marks, it smells refreshing with a pear undertone that isn't over powering or sickly. It's a nice background scent and isn't too strong for a small room. The next one is my FAVOURITE scent and I actually have it burning while I write this! It is Singing in the Rain. This name just screams me!! I love that smell just after it rains, or just before it rains! Its so fresh and dewy and I think this scent really captures that!! For me it's like a clean laundry mixed with fresh rain. It's sooo incredibly light and fresh, I just adore it! Lastly I got Ginger Bear Loves Ginger Beer, now I got this one purely because it was 'Scent of the Week' (which basically just means it is discounted and the favourite scent of that week) but I got such a pleasant surprise! It smells like ginger (obviouslly haha) but it's not like baking ginger its literally ginger beer. It's delicious with a slight zing to it! Now the last thing I got was the Burner, I had been wanting to purchase these melts for ages and had been trying to find a burner that suited my decor and was a good price. This one was a little more than what I wanted to spend but I happened to come across a coupon code which gave me $10 off! This Burner is stunning though! It is painted wood and has a ceramic bowl and candle holder, which also comes with a candle. It fits in with my decor perfectly and the little ceramic bowl doesn't burn or become discoloured (which soo many do!) so I am completely stoked with this little burner! Over all I have to give Candle Crush a 10/10. There customer service is amazing, there product is incredible, shipping is so quick and I couldn't be more happy! They have great descriptions of all the scents so there is no way you can pick wrong! Give this little company a go, I highly recommend them! Nicole xxx

Now these are in no particular order! Just my top 5 favourite lipsticks, there's something in there for everyone and I'll give you a brief overview of each lippy 1. Maybelline - Brazen Berry I was on the hunt for a purple lipstick, I wanted something out of my comfort zone but didn't want to pay a lot for incase it turned out purple just wasn't me. I went to a make up sale and there was a tub filled with these lipsticks. So I swatched it on my hand and the colour looked good. Anyway as soon as I got home I popped it on and I was in love!!!! It's such a gorgeous colour, so easy to apply, the creamiest formula and it stays on for hours! The perfect purple! 2. MAC - Impassioned This was my first ever MAC lippy and I decided to go with something bold. This gorgeous lipstick is like a hot pink mixed with coral. It is creamy and opaque and I feel like it doesn't lean too much toward blue undertone or orange undertones so alot of different skin tones will love this particular shade. It's very wearable and the formula can't be faulted! 3. Revlon - Pink Cognito This is the perfect nude! It's a peachy pink and it has a subtle shimmer which doesn't show on the lips. It's a beautifully creamy formula and I think the packaging is so classy. It's the perfect lipstick to pair with a bold eye or to wear underneath a bold lipstick. 4. NYX - Paparazzi This is a gorgeous rosy pink and even provides a little stain when the lipstick starts to fade. Its easy to apply and goes with most make up looks. This lipstick is perfect if you are wanting something a little stronger than a nude but not too intense. 5. Karen Murrell - Scarlet Blaze This is the deepest most stunning red. This is my favourite winter shade but you will definitely need to line your lips with a good liner. This is one of my favourite brands of lipsticks as they stay on beautifully, are super creamy and there is a great range of shades. So there is my top 5 lipsticks, I hope you got some inspiration! Let me know your favourite lipstick in the comments below Nicole xxx So it's that time again! Another DIY. Today I'm going to show you how to create a Chevron Canvas! First you need to buy a canvas, I got one that was around 60x40, I wanted one that would be a feature in my lounge that I could place other canvas's around. The next thing you need to do is rule boxes, to get the shape I did, I ruled the canvas by 4 across and 8 down. You then need to connect the corners like I've done in the top right photo. Now it's time for masking tape! Put this along all the edges as a barrier for the paint to create an extra crisp edge! I ended up painted three coasts of this medium gray paint. I chose gray because I have a neutral theme to my lounge, it is made up of white, gray and wood. After leaving the canvas for around three hours I slowly peeled back the masking tape to reveal my gorgeous finished product!! I am in love with my finished product!! It is so simple and I think it looks amazing!! I've seen some done with glitter and I think eventually I'll try one of those for a different room! If you have any questions please ask Nicole xxx |
